Indian music, whose most well-known representative is Ravi Shankar, has inspired a good number of western composers and musicians. But enthusiasm is not necessarily the same as understanding. The aim of this album is therefore to enable some of the most representative examples of Indian music to be heard, played on its principle instruments.
