Man Ray, Portraits - Paris-Hollywood-Paris
Two thirds of this unique world collection consists of portraits. It was only after a long process of cataloguing, identifying and digitising that it was possible to gauge the importance of this collection.
This publication is the finishing touch to this project. With close on 500 negatives reproduced as positives, biographical notes setting the people represented in context, two essays by Quentin Bajac and Clément Chéroux, as well as articles by Man Ray himself explaining his way of working, this book hopes to bring this astonishing collection of faces to a wide public. It also hopes to give back to Man Ray the place he deserves in the art of the portrait in the twentieth century.
