Description

Jean-Michel Meurice is a painter and director born in 1938 in Lille.

At the forefront of the Supports/Surfaces movement, he built a constant and rigorous work from the beginning of the sixties. At the same time, he regularly takes the camera. This double work was distinguished by the Grand Prize of the Academy of Fine Arts for painting and by the National Grand Prize for Audiovisual creation. He is also one of the founders of La Sept, which has now become Arte, and was its first director.
