De Stijl | Exhibition catalogue

9782844264589

Fascinating! A very complete book to understand avant-garde movements.
Presenting the areas of reflection explored by De Stijl, this catalogue's critical and documentary ambition places it in the tradition of authoritative works from the Centre Pompidou.

Description

Created in the Netherlands in 1917, the De Stijl review remains one of the main sources on the avant-gardes.
Gathered around Theo Van Doesburg, about fifteen major artists among whom Piet Mondrian, Bart Van der Leck, Vilmos Huszàr, Jacobus Johannes, Pieter Oud, Gerrit Rietveld and Cornelis Van Eesteren contributed to De Stijl to theorize the "néoplasticisme" in all Europe.
