Description

In 2011, the Centre Pompidou acquired the collection of Christian Bouqueret - the last great series of photographs of the 1920s and 1930s still privately own in France. The fund contains nearly 7,000 vintage prints divided into one hundred solo sets, which include the most famous photographers living in Paris at the time. "Voici Paris" aims at exhibiting the wonders of this extraordinary collection, but also at presenting the photographic creation in France at a time when the capital attracted artists worldwide from the United States, Germany, Hungary and beyond. Along with French photographers, they participate in one of the most flamboyant period of the history of the medium, when modern vision was invented.
