Marc Chagall (1887 - 1985) is a Franco-Russian artist, a major figure of 20th century art. His work does not belong to any school but presents some of the characteristics of surrealism and neo-primitivism. Exploring all media, Chagall has notably painted on canvas and stained glass, produced ceramics and sculptures and written poetry.
