Through slightly metaphorical drawings Rosemarie Trockel makes public what is usually private, intimate even. The artist distorts the banality of life, manipulates conventions, destabilizes expectations.
Human beings are animalized while animals are humanized. Objects take human forms and genders are imperceptibly twisted. Hundred works included in this book coming from various institutions: the Cabinet of Graphic Art of the Centre Pompidou, the Kupferstichkbinett in Basel, the Kohberstiksamlingen in Copenhagen and several private collections as well as from the artist's personal collection.
