The Centre Pompidou and K21 Düsseldorf are collaborating on a joint exhibition, the first of its kind devoted to Hito Steyerl in France and Germany. A retrospective selection of the artist's major works is based on a new production and is accompanied by two publications.
Through her eyes, Hito Steyerl's project addresses a debate that is essential today in the face of the changes taking place in museums. The architecture of the Centre Pompidou is the starting point: a transparent and functional device inaugurated more than forty years ago to carry out the museum's heritage missions with the democratic project of a cultural resource centre open to all.
