Norman Foster is a leading figure in international architecture, whose work has been awarded multiple prizes, including the prestigious Pritzker Prize. His singular career path led him from Manchester to Yale University, where he became close to Richard Rogers, one of the creators of the Centre Pompidou, with whom he founded his first agency. Over the years, Norman Foster has worked on all types of programs: houses, schools, museums, corporate headquarters, skyscrapers, urban developments, maritime facilities, subway lines and airports. In total, more than 400 projects have been designed by his firm, Foster + Partners. Scattered throughout the world, his iconic achievements have transformed the face and organization of many urban spaces. Although he has been considered an important figure in the high-tech movement because of the high degree of technological innovation in his buildings, Norman Foster has favored an architecture that respects the environment, concerned with reconciling the biosphere and the technosphere - a living architecture that looks to a resolutely ecological future.
