Comprising mainly works and documents from the collections of the Musée national d'art moderne - Centre Pompidou, the exhibition Over the Rainbow (2023) shows how, throughout the twentieth century and right up to the present day, artists have contributed to bringing minority sexualities out of invisibility, and have participated in the struggles led by LGBTQI+ communities for the recognition of their rights.
The work of German artist Kippenberger invites liberation from social constraints and encourages uninhibited self-expression. With its striking aesthetic and powerful message, this poster is a visual symbol of the LGBTQ+ community and its fight for equality and recognition. It reminds us of the importance of pride and self-acceptance, while inviting viewers to embrace their identity with happiness and confidence.
