Description
Light on the artistic contribution in the struggles led by the LGBTQIA+ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, queer, intersex, asexual, +) communities since the beginning of the 20th century, through the collection of the Centre Pompidou. More than five hundred works and documents are brought together to show how artists have contributed to transforming the representation of so-called "minority" sexualities, and accompanied this emancipation movement for the recognition of their rights, in its clandestine as well as openly militant forms.
*Over the Rainbow is the title of a song performed by Judy Garland in the film The Wizard of Oz. In the 1970s, this song, associated with the rainbow flag of the LGBTQIA+ community, became one of its anthems.
