After The incredible journey of the Centre Pompidou's masterpieces, this new opus of the collection «Why is it famous?» presents some sixty of the most popular design objects preserved in Beaubourg - from the Thonet chair (1885) to Marlène Huissoud's Cocoon Cabinet (2018), including Facom tools and Swatch watches. Over more than a century, the work draws up an inventory of objects of which the shapesand functions respond to each other. This brief history of design is placed under the sign of the posterity of the works: we especially notice their influence in our daily lives, their recurring presence in films, advertisements, transportation, current language (a Tupperware...) and also at home.
