Description

Language: French

Following on from "Yves Saint Laurent aux Musées" (Yves Saint Laurent in Museums) in 2022, the Centre Pompidou invited Laurence Benaïm to continue the dialogue between art and fashion by imagining a colourful conceptual conversation between the figures of creators and works in the National Museum of Modern Art.

Throughout Level 5 of the museum, the presentation showcases 17 sets of correspondence between a piece by a creator and an artwork or trend in modern and contemporary art. From Christian Dior to Iris van Herpen, Azzedine Alaïa to Thebe Magugu and Jean Paul Gaultier to Issey Miyake, including Chanel and Charles de Vilmorin, this presentation celebrates the powerful links that have united fashion and artistic creation, fashion designers and artists, since the early 20th century
