Digital technologies have revolutionized the design and manufacture of objects, transforming the practice of designers, architects and artists. What is the status of the author in the era of producing these "non-standard" objects, which are both unique and industrially produced? What is the status of this 3D "printed" object, at once an everyday object, a technological object, a work of art, a design object, an architectural prototype? From the micro scale (printing living cells) to the macro scale (printing architectures on a 1:1 scale), from the visible to the infra-visible, additive manufacturing raises multiple questions.
