Description
Wolfgang Tillmans - Textes is a panoramic collection of interviews and writings by an artist for whom language has always been an important means of expression. Organised chronologically, these texts reflect Wolfgang Tillmans' thoughts on photography, music, politics, nightlife, astronomy, spirituality and activism. The sources for these documents are as varied as their content, with statements and interviews originally published in exhibition catalogues rubbing shoulders with the artist's social media posts and song lyrics. Whether he is talking about his own work as a photographer or echoing the thoughts of others, Tillmans is always a generous interlocutor, endowed with a salutary lucidity. This publication traces his contribution to art and cultural criticism from 1989 to 2025, in parallel with the political and societal developments of those years.
